Geelilakan pohja ja yläosa ovat pakollisia mestarin työssä. Geelilakka levitetään erityiselle pohjalle (pohjalle) ja kiinnitetään yläpinnalla (viimeistely). Pohja tasoittaa ja vahvistaa kynsilevyä, varmistaa geelilakan hyvän tarttuvuuden ja pidentää sen kulumista.
